Editorial Policy

This policy explains how CalcRange creates, reviews, corrects, and updates calculators and editorial content. It applies to the calculators, guides, tables, examples, and explanatory pages published on calcrange.com.

Editorial purpose

CalcRange exists to make practical calculations easier to understand and verify. A useful page should answer the question directly, show the relevant formula or method, explain assumptions, give a worked example, and identify important limitations. Search visibility or advertising does not override accuracy or usefulness.

Who is responsible

Umar Malik, the founder and site operator, is responsible for publishing decisions, calculator maintenance, source review, corrections, and updates. CalcRange does not present Umar as a physician, lawyer, accountant, engineer, financial adviser, or representative of any government or religious authority.

Source standards

We prioritize sources according to the subject:

• Government agencies and official public bodies for laws, taxes, safety information, and public guidance.
• Standards organizations and official documentation for formulas, units, and technical methods.
• Peer-reviewed research, universities, and recognized medical organizations for health-related background.
• Official product, platform, or provider documentation for service-specific instructions.
• Established professional organizations for etiquette or industry practices when no binding rule exists.

We avoid treating a search snippet, anonymous forum post, marketing claim, or unsourced summary as the sole authority for a consequential statement.

Calculator review process

1. Define the required inputs, outputs, units, formula, rounding method, and exclusions.
2. Calculate representative examples independently.
3. Test boundary and invalid inputs where the interface permits them.
4. Check whether tax, fees, units, dates, or local conventions could change the result.
5. Add limitations and links to sources when a number could affect health, money, safety, or legal decisions.
6. Recheck the public page after publication.

Article review process

Articles are checked for a clear answer, internal consistency, supported claims, working links, readable structure, and useful examples. Tables and calculations are spot-checked. Social conventions—such as tipping practices—are described as guidance rather than mandatory rules. Estimates are labeled as estimates.

Health, finance, construction, and other high-impact topics

Calculator results are educational estimates, not professional advice. Health tools are screening or planning aids and are not diagnoses. Finance and tax tools do not account for every contract, fee, jurisdiction, or personal circumstance. Construction estimates do not replace local code, site measurement, or professional review. Users should consult a qualified professional when a decision carries material risk.

Use of automation and drafting tools

Software may assist with research organization, calculations, formatting, or initial drafts. Automation is not treated as a source. Published pages remain subject to human review, and no tool is allowed to invent a credential, testimonial, citation, or measurement. If a page cannot be supported and made useful, it should not be published merely to target a keyword.

Advertising and commercial independence

Advertising may support the operation of CalcRange. Advertisers do not control calculator formulas, editorial conclusions, source selection, or corrections. Sponsored material, if introduced, will be identified. We do not sell favorable calculator results.

Corrections policy

Readers can report an error by emailing support@calcrange.com. Include the URL, inputs, observed result, expected result, and any supporting source. We prioritize errors that could materially affect a decision. Minor copy edits may be made without a notice; material formula or factual corrections should be reflected in the page’s review information.

Updates and freshness

Evergreen mathematical formulas do not require artificial date changes. Pages about laws, platform behavior, medical guidance, prices, rates, or social practices require periodic review. A “last reviewed” date means the page was checked at that time; it is not a guarantee that a third party has not changed its rules since then.

Originality and user value

CalcRange aims to publish original explanations, worked examples, calculator behavior, and topic-specific limitations. We do not republish scraped articles, generate doorway pages, or manufacture user reviews. Similar calculators should have genuinely different inputs, formulas, use cases, and supporting explanations.
